VCM Spectroscopy Chamber

Offline chemometrics.

PAT always comes with the challenge of calibration. The in-process sensor position and how deep the radiation can penetrate significantly impact signal quality. In the worst case, the sensors might capture only stagnant material resulting in low sensitivity and drifts.

The spectroscopy chamber is an easy-to-use offline solution for combining VCM technology with typical process sensors. Two ports allow investigating the melt via reflection and transmission.

For transmission and reflection

The spectroscopy chamber allows studying whether it is better to use reflectance with one or transmission with two probes. Reduce material consumption during calibration runs on the extruder and implement a PAT faster with more confidence.

Set the optical path length (L>l) for transmission measurement. The sample volume in the two-diameter compartment is constant — the path length changes when pressing the material from one section into another. Click on the button below to read the related publication.

VCM Spectroscopy Lid

Flexibility enhancers.

In laboratories, tasks are diverse. Additional lids for the VCM Disc Tools allow you to accomplish even more tasks. The Spectroscopy Lid enables direct spectroscopic measurements during processing and simplifies calibration using interchangeable windows and background materials.
